For the first time, the City of Charles Sturt Wheelchair Open will be held at the West Lakes Tennis Club this week, from 7 to 9 February 2014.

The ITF Futures level event will be contested by a strong field of Australian players.

World No.29, Keegan Oh-Chee (NSW) and local talent, world No.65, Henry De Cure, will headline the field.

Oh-Chee is currently the third ranked Australian player and will be looking to win his first singles title at West Lakes to kickstart his 2014 season.

De Cure from South Australia is working hard to establish himself on tour and will be a tough opponent on home soil.

New South Wales’ Jerry Markoja and Anderson Parker are also set to star in the field, vying for valuable ITF ranking points and prize money.

“This event showcases a great field of Australian Wheelchair athletes competing in the inaugural City of Charles Sturt Wheelchair Open.“ said Dylan Hicks, City of Charles Sturt Wheelchair Open Tournament Director.

“The West Lakes Tennis Club is excited to be showcasing an international-level wheelchair event  for the first time in conjunction with the Charles Sturt Adelaide International and we look forward to the community supporting the event and getting behind it in its first year” added Hicks.

Play will start on Friday 7 February. Entry to the tournament is free with matches commencing at 10 am daily. The final will commence on Sunday 9 February at 9.30 am, followed by the final of the City of Charles Sturt Adelaide International at 12.00 pm.
