Jarmila Gajdosova has continued her impressive form in her return to tour-level competition with a win over Misaki Doi at the WTA Nanjing Ladies Open.

The Australian, sidelined for more than six months as she recovered from debilitating mononucleosis, defeated her Japanese sixth-seeded opponent 6-3 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals.

“Made it just before the rain 🙂 happy with my win and got another opportunity to improve tomorrow!!!” tweeted Gajdosova, currently ranked 300th.

Her next opponent at the WTA 125K event will be Chinese wildcard Wang Qiang.

This is Gajdosova’s first event since representing Australia in Fed Cup in April against Switzerland; she won two matches in qualifying to take her place in the main draw.
