Ash Barty will attempt to join fellow Aussie Sam Stosur in the third round as she resumes her match against Maria Kirilenko on Friday at Roland Garros.

The 17-year-old Queenslander was tied at 3-3 with the 12th seeded Russian before rain halted play late on Thursday evening in Paris.

Weather depending, Barty is scheduled to return to the court later in the day for women’s doubles, where she will team with Casey Dellacqua.

The pair earlier this year reached the final of the Australian Open as wildcards, but find themselves seeded 14th for the French Open.

Other Aussies featuring in tandem action will be John Peers and Anastasia Rodionova.
