Both Australian entrants bowed out in the quarterfinals of the ATP event in Munich on Friday, leaving second-seeded Spaniard Feliciano Lopez and German fourth seed Philipp Kohlschreiber to meet in the semifinals.

World No.16 Lopez overcame fifth seed Bernard Tomic 6-4 6-2 after home hope Kohlschreiber had seen off the challenge of Aussie qualifier Marinko Matosevic 6-0 7-6(5).

Kohlschreiber is looking to reclaim a title he previously won in 2007.

The second semifinal on Saturday will feature German wildcard Tommy Haas, who defeated Marcos Baghdatis in the last eight, against Croatian third seed Marin Cilic.
