Bernard Tomic and Matt Ebden will face off in an all-Aussie semifinal after both rising stars won their respective quarterfinals at the Caloundra Tennis International today.

Tomic was forced to work for his win, pushed to three sets for the third consecutive time this week against unseeded Slovakian Ivo Klec.

The teenager’s 7-5 2-6 6-1 victory secured him a spot in his second ATP Challenger semifinal for the year after he also reached the final four at last week’s McDonalds Burnie International.

West Australian Matt Ebden continued his quiet charge through the draw with a convincing 6-1 6-2 win over Italian Flavio Cipolla.

Top seed Marinko Matosevic was upset in three sets by Thailand’s Danai Udomchoke 7-6 2-6 6-3 while Australian Davis Cup squad member Carsten Ball fell to fifth seed Grega Zemjla in straight sets 6-3 6-4.
