Early January each year (usually the weekend following New Year), the MPR competes in the Victorian Country Inter-regional Championships. This competition, which have been conducted for more than 50 years, is an annual tournament played over three days at a regional venue in Victoria. Players represent their regions in a selection of events ranging from Open, Seniors and Junior age groups in both singles and doubles events. In 2006 our region finish 1st out of the 11 regions that make up country Victoria.
2016 Victorian Inter-Regional Championships
The MPR are now in the process of planning for next year’s event. Our primary focus at this stage is to seek the commitment of players who would like to be part of our team for the Inter-regional Championships.
The venue for the 2016 Inter-regional Championships has yet to be announced. The event will be held on the 8th, 9th and 10th of January 2016.

We aim to have the team finalised by the end of October. We are therefore now requesting players to nominate for a spot on the team for this event. Due to prestigious nature of this event, we expect that selection trials will need to be run to help us select our team. Nominations are required by Friday 4 September 2015.
The MPR plans to run these trials at the Rye Tennis Club during September to assist us in the selection of players for the team.
