AO Blitz celebration - What a party we had

The AO Blitz celebrations with Macclesfield / Echunga were held on Saturday 15 March 2014

Macclesfield / Echunga were announced the national men’s winners in the inaugural AO Blitz after aligning with Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka.

Tennis royalty John Fitzgerald and Todd Woodbridge shareed some great tennis stories, past and present. The evening included a delicious gourmet BBQ dinner under the event marquee at Macclesfield Tennis Club, with the opportunity to mix and mingle with the sports community.

Plus, tennis fans could feel like a Grand Slam® champion as they enjoy their very own photo opportunity with the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup (men’s trophy) and Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup (women’s trophy) who will be in display throughout the evening.

The event included door prizes, live band, fundraising auction, special appearance by SpongeBob Square Pants, giveaways and loads of activities for the kids –  it was an action packed night!

All AO Blitz event proceeds will benefit the development of a new Macclesfield Tennis and Netball clubhouse.
