Tennis Tasmania has introduced a new system of affiliation for clubs.
No longer does our club pay by the variable number of players we have registered, but by the number of courts we have.
This means that the club has opportunities to have flexible membership packages for our members and the public.

Congratulations the Lindisfarne Sharks for their success on the final day of the Tasmanian Tennis League.
The great news is that the women’s team of Hannah Coombe, Vanessa Dobson, Erin Fazackerley, and Jess Fowler won the grand final with a convincing 5-1 win over Geilston Bay.
Also doing very well was the men’s team which finished 3rd with a win in the playoff over Launceston Rams, our team members being Daniel Groom, Chris Schlade and David Zerna. Tom Youl was unavailable through injury.
The Super 10 team of Arthur Hayes-Newington, Victoria Fish, George Anderson and Rosie Fish performed very well to round out a successful season for that age group.
A vote of thanks to those club members who went to the Domain Tennis Centre to support our teams.
John Playle, Head Coach and leader of the Hobart Tennis Academy, can be proud of his charges, and the club thanks him for his efforts in organising the teams and coaching them so successfully, thanks John, well done.
The attached picture is of the women’s team collecting their reward, unfortunately Erin had another commitment and had to leave before the presentation.
Thanks and congratulations to all those involved.

Lindisfarne Sharks maul Domain Wizards
Lindisfarne Sharks got off to a flying start in the opening round of the inaugural Tasmanian Tennis League by winning 3 of the 4 divisions against the Domain Tennis Club.
The men’s victory of 5 matches to 1 was a sensational effort with Damien Groom and Tom Youl in hot form. The women defeated the Domain, again 5-1 with Erin Fazackerley, Jesse Fowler and Hannah Coombe all playing brilliantly. The Super 12’s did not get a favourable result, but the Super 10’s were ahead when rain stopped play. The next round will be at Lindisfarne and where Lindisfarne Sharks play the Kingston Sea Eagles on Sunday 26 October commencing at 11am with the Super 12’s followed at 1pm by the men’s and women’s matches winding up with the Super 10’s. The club is hosting a CLUB CARNIVAL DAY at the same time – lots of activities for children – HotShots, ice cream van, face painting, for the adults – canteen, happy hour between 3 and 4pm.
