Tennis Queensland Gold Coast Region

JDS State Finals

The JDS State Finals held in Rockhampton during October is one of the most prestigious events on the regional representative calendar. Players from their respective regions must qualify by playing their local JDS events and finishing in the top 2 in their respective division (must play in 5 events).

The Gold Coast has won this event more times than any other region, and we pride ourselves on our performances at this event.  Players from 11/U through to 17/U are eligible to represent.

Tennis Gold Coast and the Gold Coast Regional Assembly coordinate the Gold Coast team which consists of 16 players.  Flights, accommodation, food and transport are all coordinated by the region for all the players that stay with the team. Staying with the team is not compulsory but all players are required to pay the same contribution amount as this includes the above costs, plus their tournament entry fees and team shirt.

Gold Coast tennis volunteers (including Regional Treasurer Stephen Kua) and Community Tennis Officer Tanya Corbett manage the team throughout the event.
