Coolum Tennis Club

Coaching

Coolum Tennis Club’s contracted coach is  Andrew Ash.     Andrew commenced his tenure with us on January 1, 2012 after submitting an outstanding proposal for coaching and club development services. He continues to implement wide ranging coaching opportunities and support club development.

Arguably, the Professional Coach is the most valuable asset for any successful tennis club. Service Providers are more than court hirers, they are an integral element of successful tennis club operations.

The Service Provider, being autonomous and self employed, comes at no cost to the club, yet has the capacity to be one of the most important assets of a club. Through the Service Providers professional marketing and advertising for coaching he will bring to the club many potential members, though ultimately, it is the club that has the responsibility to ensure there are high standard facilities and a myriad of programs and services to convert potential members into actual members.

What Andrew Ash has brought to Coolum Tennis Club:

Andrew Ash has a deep involvement at State and National levels through his positions as TQ State WheelchairTennis Coach. He is an ambassador and Mentor for the Tennis Australia MLC Hot Shots and Cardio Tennis programs, he is a contracted coach facilitator for Tennis Australia coaching courses, is one of
5 coaches nationally who sit on the Tennis Australia National Coach AdvisoryCouncil and also sits on the Tennis Queensland Local Advisory Group. These connections with Australia’s peak tennis sporting bodies and associated programs bring a sound knowledge of the industry and current trends. Ash Tennis is closely aligned in terms of ethics and values with Tennis Australia’s Code of Conduct which is embedded in the Ash Tennis philosophy and operating model.

Andrew has gained coaching and operational skills in the United States, Scotland, England and Spain. He has home-grown Australian experience acquired in country Victoria and in Brisbane. He has extensive formal qualifications – including the United States Professional Tennis Association Pro 2 coaching qualification; Tennis Australia’s Club Professional
coaching qualification; Tennis Australia’s Junior Development coaching qualification; and a Certificate 3 in Sport and Recreation management. Andrew has taken this international and local knowledge and his formal qualifications, and translated it to the success of Ash Tennis.

Ash Tennis has been providing management support services to the Greater Brisbane Junior Tennis Association (GBJT) since 2010, in addition to running the Junior Development Series (JDS) Tournaments for the Metropolitan Region in 2011.
