Beenleigh Tennis

Matthew Bourne

My name is Matthew Bourne and I have been playing tennis my whole life. I began lessons here in Beenleigh when I was 10 and had a very young James Rapkins coaching me. Since then I have played countless state and national tournaments but more than that, I developed a life long passion for sport and healthy living. I attained my JDC coaching level in 2004 after leaving school, and then progressed to Club Professional in 2007. I am also a high school teacher and after graduating spent 2 years teaching in England and then 2 years in a remote community in the Northern Territory. Over the 4 years I was away I was fortunate to have many opportunities to travel as well. I am back here coaching at the club because I enjoy it so much and to fund my next 4 years of uni study in Landscape Architecture. I am definitely part of a big family here at the NGCTA and you are welcome to join too!
