Beenleigh Tennis

Chantel Jamieson

I started tennis at age 7, continued to play competitive tennis throughout my junior years, representing my home state Tasmania in various state teams and also representing Queensland after moving up here in 2010. I’m very passionate about sport and I’m currently studying Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Queensland. I enjoy playing and spectating many sports but tennis has always been at the top of my list. Most of my best friends and fond memories are gained from being at the tennis courts either training or competing in various tournaments. In 2009 I started completing the Junior Development Coaching course whilst in year 10 and have been a qualified coach for 4 years now. I love being able to coach juniors and adults through the experience I have gained playing at a high level for many years.  For the last two years I have competed in the Beenleigh Blaze team for the Asia Pacific Tennis League, competing against top athletes from around QLD and in 2013 our team made it to the national final where we played at Melbourne Park during the Australian Open. This achievement was one of the special unforgettable moments of my tennis career and I strive to reach the national finals again at the end of this year.
