Barwon Sports Academy Tennis Program
Beginning in 2011, tennis will be a partner sport with the Barwon Sports Acdemy to create the Barwon Sports Academy Tennis Program. Tennis players aged 9 – 16 years are invited to nominate to become a member of the program. The program’s on-court tennis program will be delivered by Head Coach Wayne Smith (ex State Academy Head Coach) in conjunction with Geelong Partner Coaches & Clubs. An information evening will be held at Sports House Moorabool Street Geelong on Wednesday January 19th at 7pm. Nominations close on Friday 21st January. Barwon Region Feeder Squads
The Barwon Regional Council has actively sort to establish or re-establish 8 satellite squads within the Barwon Region. Utilizing squads that may already be in existence, encouraging those not currently conducting squads to establish them and building on this with support from the region, by further developing a pathway for the Barwon Region juniors to Tennis Victoria’s programs. For this to be successful, these squads must be readily accessible to all junior players within the Barwon region, consideration has been given to the geographic location of interested clubs, as well as the response received from interested coaches.
