22 March 2017 | Tennis ACT

Top junior players from the ACT and region competed in ACT Junior State League, a weekly competition over three weekends in February and March 2017.

24 players made up six teams of four, whom contested six rounds of competition for the ACT Junior State League title.

The competition was played in the FAST4 Tennis format, including singles and doubles matches. Overall it was well received by players commenting that timed matched complemented their game.

On Saturday March 18, finals were played with a tight contest between Team 5 and Team 6. Team 6 the victors and being crowned the ACT Junior State League winners.

The competition has been running on and off over the past 25 years, and was introduced back into the region last year with plenty of interest for the competition to continue in Term four.

Team 5  members:

Ashleigh Simes, Damon Illitch, India Schrieber and Aaron Liu (reserve for Maxwell Prest)

Team 6 members:

Charles Prest, Oliver Sheehan, Riley White and Sophie Phillips
