7 December 2016 | Tennis ACT

The Australian Summer of Tennis has begun with two of our Canberra 12/u boys, Charlie Camus and Daniel Macdonald winning two titles each.

Charlie Camus had a great win at the 2016 Shoalhaven Junior Championships defeating fifth seed Michael Tam (NSW) in straight sets. He also took the 2016 Wagga Junior Open singles title, defeating second seed Pavle Popovich (NSW) in straight sets.  ACT player Baden Arellano Gerrard also performed well in Sholhaven, making the semifinals.

Daniel McDonald (ACT) has had recent doubles success, taking two 12/u JT boys doubles titles – the 2016 Wagga Junior Open partnering Maxwell Prest (NSW), and in Shoalhaven alongside NSW player Jeorge Collins (NSW).

Based on the results of the recent ACT Super 10’s competition, Canberra’s Aliyah Dywer, Hugh Taylor, and Marqaylar Tere have been selected to represent the ACT at the first Grand Slam of 2017, where they will compete against finalists from all eight states. More.
