East Hotel Canberra Challenger

 7 – 14 JANUARY 2017


Part of the Australian Pro Tour, the East Hotel Canberra Challenger is a $75,000 professional tournament, part of the ATP challenger tour.

Placed the week before the Australian Open 2017, the tournament provides some of the world’s top players perfect preparation going into the first Grand Slam of the year.

The 2016 event was the first of its kind in the ACT, attracting 54 players from 20 countries. A quality international field was attracted to Canberra, with ten top 100 players featuring at the tournament. 32 players from the 2016 tournament went on to compete at the Australian Open 2016 in singles, doubles, and junior events. Top seed Paolo Lorenzi(ITA) won in 2016 after a straight sets victory over fifth seed Ivan Dodig (CRO).

Qualifying will take place from 7 – 9 January with main draw action to commence on Monday 9 January.

Entry is free, with a gold coin donation upon entry on Saturday 14 January 2017 – finals day.
