Getting Started in Junior Pennant

To be able to play in a Tennis ACT pennant competition, you first need to join a club. All pennant competitions are outlined in the Tennis ACT Calendar. Once you have decided which competition you would like to play in, place your name on the relevant sign-up sheet in your clubhouse with your registration number and contact phone numbers. Your coach or junior co ordianator will place you in a team and grade that best suits your ability.

You will need to make yourself available for the whole of the competition, otherwise you should sign up as a reserve only.

Once the clubs have finalised their teams, the entries are sent toTennis ACT. Approximately one week before the competition starts, your team captain will contact you and give you details of where you will be playing on the first week. Each team member will receive a copy of the draw and the rules of the competition.

Make sure you turn up to the correct location ahead of time for a warm-up. Penalties can apply for late arrivals. Ensure you are wearing correct tennis attire. The team supervisors should ensure matches start on time to avoid incomplete matches.
